A Pinch of Preppy

There is often a misconception when it comes to preppy style. True preppy fashion is a look that has captured the true essence of New England coastal style for generations, not a Lilly Pulitzer dress. Marked by Nantucket Reds, button down Oxford shirts and an all-around American ivy-league look, preppy fashion is a mainstay in American culture. While dressing prepy may seem too vanilla for some of you readers, take it from these fashionista's that there are many ways to spice up preppy style and make it a look of your own!

Trend Alert: Highlighter Yellow

While there are a million and one ways you can do highlighter yellow the wrong way, there are even more ways you can do it the right. Highlighter yellow can be a fun and surprising pop of color when done in moderation and with the right pieces.

Many people are afraid of this trend because they think they'll look like a 15-year-old girl at a Tiesto concert, but this is just not true. Highlighter can be sophisticated, stylish and chic. Take it from these stylish ladies that highlighter can be apart of anyone's wardrobe!

Trend Alert: Thierry Lasry Sunglasses

One of my favorite upcoming eyewear designers is Thierry Lasry. I first love with the brand after I noticed Eva Mendes wearing them on several different occasions and looking insanely chic every time. The sunglasses even drew my attention away from her man candy, Ryan Gosling, which i'm telling you is rare for me and every other person in the universe.

Based on the concept of, "Futuristic Vintage", the collections encompass a variety of unique shapes and print combinations unlike any other on the market. Launched in 2006, these sunglasses are hand-made in France and have accumulated quite the following of celebrity including Dita Von Tess, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Madonna, and more! "See" for yourself how cool these shades are below:
